What happened to a stainless steel pot?
We use stainless steel cookware and the pot has a small mark that will not go away. We tried SOS pads and sponges to clean it. It almost looks like a water mark. It turned a purple or blue color. It's not really rust but almost looks similar. Any ideas and is it ok to use??
Sounds like you got the pan very hot. When a metal gets very hot the color can change just like you describe. You won't be able to change it back just use it as it it. Nothing wrong with it other than appearance.
