Any opinions on the Rival 6 quart smartpot slow cooker?
I told my boyfriend I wanted a crock pot for Christmas, but he needs to know which one to get. I'm thinking about telling him to get me the Rival smartpot slow cooker. Does anyone have any opinions on how good or bad this one is?
I have the Rival SCE502 5-qt Slow Cooker and I really like it. The crock part comes out so I can put it on the table and it will go in the dishwasher. The down side to these crockpots that I have seen is that the bottom (heating element) where the crock fits into, is very hot to the touch. You have to be very careful to touch only the handles rather than the metal or you will get burned.
Rival is a good brand. My old crockpot was Rival and was a hand-me-down from my MIL that dated back to the early to mid 1970 and just broke this year. I use my crockpot all the time.
However, I don't know anything about the smartpot.
